Foot Exams $20
A foot exam is an important tool for the assessment and screening of high risk and diabetic feet. It includes an assessment of skin integrity, monofilament exam for monitoring of diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN), visible deformities and pressure areas of the foot, brief vascular assessment, and categorization of low-high risk feet.
A foot exam allows people living with high risk feet or diabetes the comfort of knowing that they have a baseline of their foot health and monitors any changes as they develop. This allows for further knowledge and prevention of future issues.
Foot exams are recommended annually for people living with diabetes.
Foot Care $60
General foot care services include a basic skin integrity assessment to identify any pressure areas or foot deformities. Nailcare including trimming and debriding of thick or fungal toenails. Corn/callus reduction. Education on proper foot hygiene, DPN, how foot health is affected by diabetes.
Other Services
Onyfix $80
Onyfix is a relatively new service provided in Alberta. It is treatment for involuted and ingrown toenails. It is a pain free, non-invasive procedure that can correct involuted toenails with a simple 5 minute, in clinic procedure. It does not require any local anaesthetic.
This treatment is not for everyone and cannot be done on a toe with an active infection. It is recommended that if you suffer from chronic ingrown toenails to see your physician prior to seeking alternative treatments.
PP20 $30
PP20 is a silicone putty that is used to make toe molds to offload problem areas such as painful corns on the tips of toes caused by hammertoes. It can also be used to make toe separators for offloading pressure areas between toes and providing relief for bunions.
The silicone molds do not sweat like other molds do so they are safer for people with diabetes and mold to the exact shape of your foot to reduce risk of pressure areas that can be caused by other products.
